Description:
MDA provides health care services, support and advocacy to families/patients -- along with education to the public -- regarding muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility. A wide range of services, along with information and referral specific to these conditions and their challenges, are accessible by first contacting the closest area MDA office -- Fort Myers, in our case. Included in the services are MDA Care Center visits with a multidisciplinary team of various doctors specializing in muscular dystrophy; equipment assistance; caregiver resources; MDA Summer Camp for children ages 8-17; and much more.
