Description:
Project Phoenix assists families and individuals who are starting over; or have losses due to fire, loss of home or income, lack of renters insurance, domestic situations, etc.; or are starting out. Various types of assistance include clothing, furniture, appliances and other basic household necessities, along with some holiday assistance. The agency also assists those in need with free bicycles, and provides outreach to the homeless (may help with tents, tarps, clothes, food and other supplies). At 5:30PM each Tuesday, the organization also holds a community potluck dinner at Indian Mound Park, 210 Winson Ave., Englewood. Donations of all the above are always welcome, as are volunteers. Project Phoenix also operates a resale shop to support its community efforts.
