Competitions that feature any of a wide variety of events including alpine ski racing (slalom, giant slalom and downhill racing), cross country, ski jumping, Nordic combined (a combination of cross country and ski jumping) and freestyle which includes acro-skiing (a choreographed routine performed on a gentle slope), aerials (a two-jump routine in which the skier is judged on height, form in the air and the landing) and moguls (a timed event over a steep, bumpy course which includes technical turns and selected air maneuvers over two mid-course jumps). Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
